Routes & transit times

These are long-distance cross-border services. Journey times depend heavily on immigration queues and road conditions, so treat them as guidance rather than a guarantee.

Essential travel requirements

To board any Trinity Express cross-border bus you must present the following at the terminal before departure.

Passport or National ID

A valid passport or East African Tourist Passport. Citizens of Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda may instead travel on a National ID card.

Strictly mandatory when crossing into Uganda, Rwanda and South Sudan. Passengers without a certificate will not be boarded.

Visas

Required for non-EAC citizens. Secure your visa online or confirm visa-on-arrival eligibility before departure day.

Luggage policy

Pack once, travel light. Cargo is weighed and assessed at the counter before boarding.

Free allowance

One standard suitcase or travel backpack in the under-bus cargo hold, plus one small piece of hand luggage for the overhead cabin.

Excess luggage

Heavy commercial luggage, large boxes or extra bags attract a fee assessed by weight and size at the cargo counter before boarding.
